SIA Door Supervisor Refresher + First Aid in Barking

This SIA Door Supervisor refresher + First Aid in Barking is the refresher qualification the SIA has required since April 2025 before a Door Supervisor licence can be renewed. Over two days it brings your training up to the current units, including searching, safeguarding and physical intervention.

Dates and times at Barking

At Barking this course starts every Saturday. There are 15 dates open to book now, listed below with the day each one starts. The course runs over 2 days, 9am to 6.30pm each day. Every session counts towards the SIA's minimum hours, so plan to be there for all of it.

Getting to the Barking centre

Training is at Room 217, Roycraft House, 15 Linton Road, Barking IG11 8HE. The centre is in Barking town centre, IG11, close to Barking station (District and Hammersmith and City lines, Overground and c2c trains). Barking is the centre for the Essex side of East London. The town centre location puts it close to Barking station and the bus station, with Dagenham, East Ham and Rainham all a short ride away.

What you pay

The full fee is £250. You pay £70 online when you book and the remaining £180 at the centre on your first day. The deposit is not refundable, because your place is registered and the trainer is arranged as soon as you book, but you can move to another date once, free of charge, with at least 48 hours notice.

Who books the Door Supervisor refresher at Barking

Mostly Door Supervisors whose licence expires in the next few months and anyone whose licence has lapsed and wants to work on doors again. Bring your current or expired licence number. The SIA lets you renew before your licence expires or up to three years after, and the refresher is valid for your renewal once you have passed.

What to bring

Your passport or UK driving licence, two proofs of address from the last three months and three passport size photos. For an SIA licence course you also need your two ACT certificates, which are free online; the joining instructions explain how to get them.
