SIA Door Supervisor Refresher + First Aid in Aldgate

The SIA Door Supervisor refresher + First Aid in Aldgate is the refresher qualification the SIA has required since April 2025 before a Door Supervisor licence can be renewed. Over two days it brings your training up to the current units, including searching, safeguarding and physical intervention.

Getting to the Aldgate centre

Training is at 6 Osborn Street, London E1 6TD. Osborn Street is at the bottom of Brick Lane. Aldgate East (District and Hammersmith and City lines) is seconds away, Aldgate (Circle and Metropolitan) a few minutes more, and Liverpool Street and Whitechapel both bring the Elizabeth line within a short walk. Osborn Street is where Brick Lane meets Whitechapel High Street, so the Aldgate centre is on the doorstep of the City and the Shoreditch bars and venues where many of our door supervisors go on to work.

Dates and times at Aldgate

At Aldgate this course starts a Monday every 4 weeks and every other Saturday. There are 11 dates open to book now, listed below with the day each one starts. The course runs over 2 days, 9am to 6.30pm each day. Every session counts towards the SIA's minimum hours, so plan to be there for all of it.

The fee, and how it is paid

The full fee is £220. You pay £70 online when you book and the remaining £150 at the centre on your first day. The deposit is not refundable, because your place is registered and the trainer is arranged as soon as you book, but you can move to another date once, free of charge, with at least 48 hours notice.

Who books the Door Supervisor refresher at Aldgate

Mostly Door Supervisors whose licence expires in the next few months and anyone whose licence has lapsed and wants to work on doors again. Bring your current or expired licence number. The SIA lets you renew before your licence expires or up to three years after, and the refresher is valid for your renewal once you have passed.

What to bring

Bring a passport or driving licence, two proofs of address dated in the last three months, and three passport size photos. ACT Awareness and ACT Security certificates are needed too. They are free online and the joining instructions show you where.
